Domainal Investigation of a Quartz-Fluorite Composite Using Spectroscopic Techniques

The analysis of geological samples that have several chemically diffused zones which formed under certain physico-chemical condition is difficult to achieve. quantitative estimations the minerals in such are tedious. present work demonstrates application LIBS for qualitative and analyses a quartz-fluorite composite was procured from an amygdaloidal basalt Deccan Traps, India. presence weak emission lines F spectral range 200–900 nm makes it challenging quantify fluorine. This study has addressed promising alternative fluorine using electronic bands CaF molecules observed Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) spectrum. In addition this spectroscopic technique, authors also used Photoacoustic (PAS) UV-VIS spectroscopy technique obtain molecular information sample. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) applied truncated region molecule, showed 99% variance. Further, obtained results with these techniques were compared X-ray diffraction Electron Probe Micro Analyzer, they show good agreement.
